Ambrit takes sandwich making seriously...but you can have fun while working, too. Students from 8T and 6H worked together on our last day of sandwich preparation before winter break.

It's never too early to start doing community service! Here are both Prep C and Prep M students taking care of sandwich preparation early in December.

FOOD COLLECTION FOR SANT'EGIDIO
(packed up and delivered on Wednesday November 25)

A big big THANK YOU to all who contributed to our collection and helped us to SURPASS our goal of 489 food items!

You donated approximately 400 cans of tuna or canned meat, two boxes of chocolate bars, and an assortment of other goods (rice, pasta, tomatoes, beans, and legumes) which went immediately to the Sant'Egidio Community Welcome Center in Trastevere to be packed into parcels to be distributed this week! (See pictures below of Ambrit community members who have come to help pack the food parcels)

We are NEARLY at our goal of 489 tins of tuna, canned meat, chocolates. As of 15:30 today, Tuesday November 24, we have 455 items!

While working on a unit about Emergencies and Aid, the 4M class enthusiastically volunteered to prepare Ambrit's bi-weekly donation of sandwiches to the Sant'Egidio Community for distribution to the needy in Rome.

Francesco DePalma, responsabile for the Sant Egidio group who receives and distributes Ambrit's 40 sandwiches every other Thursday, speaks to middle school students and teachers about the needy who receive our sandwiches and blankets (we collected them last winter and will do so again after the winter break).

WELCOME CENTER in Trastevere

On Saturday November 14 some middle school students from Ambrit helped to make "pacchi non-cucina" at the Sant'Egidio Welcome Center in Trastevere. "Pacchi non-cucina" are distributed to needy who do not have a fixed address, and are composed of ready-to-eat products such as tuna, cookies, and beans.
