GO FLY A KITE!
This year a small group of refugees from Afghanistan presently living in Rome was invited to Ambrit to have lunch with and make kites with Ambrit middle school students. Below is a selection of photos taken on that day. Both students and guests alike enjoyed meeting each other, having a chance to talk and build a kite. Unfortunately there was very little wind that day so it was a challenge to get the kites to fly, but that didn't make the event any less fun!

Armed with plastic gloves and trashbags (and facts about the environmental impact of those cigarette butts that are so casually thrown on the ground), a group of Ambrit middle school students went out to see just how many they could find within a couple of blocks' radius of the school. It was shocking to see how many were collected in such a small space and a short time!

Did you know that (in the US) November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month? In recognition of this, Ambrit students wore pins to promote awareness of both the physical and environmental effects of smoking and cigarettes. Pictured here are some of the students who worked on getting pins prepared for every middle school student and teacher to wear.
